Privacy Policy

The short version

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not store the text you analyze. The website sends your text to our own server to calculate the scores and returns the result immediately; the Chrome extension does not send your text anywhere at all.

Text you analyze on this website

When you paste text into the analyzer, it is sent over an encrypted connection to our scoring endpoint, where the readability formulas are calculated and the result is returned to your browser. That text is held in memory only for the moment it takes to compute the scores. We do not write it to a database, we do not log it, and we do not use it to train anything.

Text you analyze with the Chrome extension

The Check Readability Chrome extension calculates every score locally inside your browser. No page content or selected text is transmitted to us or to anyone else, and the extension collects no analytics.

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to understand which pages people find useful. It records standard information such as the pages visited, rough geographic region, browser type, and referring site. It does not receive the text you analyze. You can block it with any content blocker or browser privacy setting without affecting how the analyzer works.

Cookies

We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking beyond the analytics described above. Your browser may store a small preference locally, such as whether you have dismissed a site announcement; that stays on your device.

Third parties

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes requests to serve the pages and records standard server logs such as IP address and request time for security and reliability purposes. Fonts are served by Google Fonts. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone.

Children

This is a general-purpose writing tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your text is handled, we will update the date at the top of this page.
